At a meeting of the Tonbridge and Malling Conservatives, Executive Council, held at Tonbridge Castle on Thursday 7th February 2008, John Stanley was adopted unanimously as the Conservative Candidate for the Constituency at the next General Election.

The Association Chairman Anne Marie Nelson paid tribute to the work John has done as MP for the Constituency and thanked him for all his effort on behalf of constituents.

In thanking the meeting for their endorsement, John told members that being a Member of Parliament was the most fulfilling and worthwhile job that he felt anyone could do and that he would continue to work for both individual concerns and for the wider concerns of local people. John expresses his pleasure that he had the support of both the Association and of his wife, Elizabeth, in continuing to serve Tonbridge and Malling, and looked forward to the challenges ahead.
